Laurie Schneider’s portrait and documentary work invites the viewer to take a closer look at love and the inner life. Laurie has been producing award-winning images for 25 years with a background in photojournalism, portraiture and fine art. She specializes in assignment and special project work that involves story development. In addition to having an impeccable reputation as one of the Twin Cities’ finest wedding and assignment photographers, she is a documentarian and animal advocate.
Her images evoke the true nature of animals, the inner and outer lives of people, and the authentic nature of regenerative farming. Schneider is a two-time winner of the highly competitive Artists Alliance Award from the Minnesota State Arts Board for her documentary work. Her full-service studio is nestled in historic Stillwater and offers portrait, wedding, event & editorial photography, archival prints, custom designed cards, wall art, and hand bound albums.
Our dollars are at work in the community. Laurie’s studio contributes over 30% of revenue and time towards conservation and animal rescue efforts. Laurie is the Founder of Pollinator Friendly Alliance, a conservation non-profit to protect declining pollinator populations. She lives in a close relationship with the natural world on her hobby farm powered by solar with organic gardens, honey bee apiaries, butterfly nurseries, and a menagerie of rescue animals. When she's not clicking the shutter, you can find her riding her beloved horse or rescuing honey bee swarms.
Animal rescue charities include: Xerces Society, The Cloud Foundation, Farm Sanctuary, Animal Humane Society, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, Wildlife Rehab Center of Minnesota, Chicken Run Rescue, and Soul Horse.
